Fresh Peaches was started by accident when Janette could not find an affordable swimsuit for her 2 year old daughter Lannette, so she went to a fabric store and purchased 2 yards of fabric thinking she could probably sew one herself, it came out super cute and she had fabric leftover so she made herself a matching swimsuit and boy oh boy were they the talk of the new neighborhood the family had just moved into! The first day they wore them one neighbor asked where did she get the swimsuit from? Janette told her she made it herself, the neighbor begged Janette to make her one too, Janette was not a seamstress and said she couldn't, she has never sewn garments and the inside isn't pretty, the neighbor laughed and said it looks great! She asked and asked so Janette said ok, but DON'T TELL ANYONE! Janette went back to the fabric store, purchased more fabric and made the swimsuit for her new friend who immediately gave her $20, Janette said no no, I can't take money for it and the friend said, but you need to be paid for your time so Janette said ok. About one hour later there was a knock on the door and when Janette answered her door it was 2 teenage girls asking, are you the swimsuit lady? Let's just say the rest is history!
